Comment from Past President D. de Kretser

It was a great honour to be asked to succeed Professor Ebo Nieschlag as President of the International Society of Andrology. Having served on the Executive Council prior to that time, I was able to assist the Society in furthering its aims. During my time as President, the Society continued to expand its influence and develop a global network of andrological societies.
These networks were of particular importance in furthering the discipline of Andrology, particularly in those countries where there had not been a history of this specialty in the medical workforce.
Members of the Executive Council were crucial in furthering the aims of the Society in their various countries by holding small meetings with the support of the International Society.
The International Society has played a very important role in bringing together scientists and clinicians from a variety of disciplines whose contributions have underpinned the successful clinical management of andrological disorders.
David de Kretser, MD
